From Entrepreneur to Major Player in Stem-Cell Research

Susan L. Solomon is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of The New York Stem Cell Foundation. Founded in 2005, NYSCF conducts cutting-edge translational stem cell research in its New York City laboratory and in collaboration with other leading institutions around the world. Ms. Solomon is the Chair of New Yorkers for the Advancement of Medical Research and has served on the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in New York City.  An attorney and entrepreneur, Ms. Solomon practiced law with Debevoise & Plimpton before beginning a career in new media, entertainment, and investment banking.  During this time, she served as the founding Chief Executive Officer of Sotheby’s.com, as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Worldwide Networks, and held senior positions at MMG Patricof and Co. and MacAndrews and Forbes Holdings.
