Christine Baker

Christine Baker harnesses deep business insights, strong strategic and operational skills, and scientific understanding from more than 30 years’ experience in biopharmaceuticals, including C-level and Board member positions. She is adept at navigating new challenges and is driven by passion for applying science to benefit human health.

Christine’s experience includes a rich and diverse blend of therapeutic areas (oncology, cardiovascular, respiratory, neurology, and anti-infectives), functional leadership roles (business development, marketing, R&D, strategy, and general management), and organizational size (large pharma, clinical- and discovery-stage biotech). Armed with a keen customer orientation, Christine has a strong track record of building cross-functional teams to design and drive drug development plans that produce marketed products to help address unmet patient needs.

Most recently, Christine served as Chief Operating Officer of Hookipa Pharma, a clinical-stage biotech company. She also previously served as Chief Business Officer at Hookipa and at EpicentRx. Christine has contributed her expertise as a non-executive director on the Boards of TYME Technologies Inc, a publicly traded biotech, and TuHURA, a discovery stage private start-up.

Christine’s experience includes leadership roles at Novartis Oncology, creating and leading the Global Early Commercial Strategy Team, contributing to the development of a robust clinical and preclinical pipeline, and assessing and valuing assets and companies for external licensing and acquisitions. Christine began her career at Schering-Plough, where she held multiple Global Marketing and Sales, licensing, and R&D roles.

Christine earned a BA magna cum laude in Chemistry from Dartmouth College and an MBA with Honors from Rutgers University.
