The Cleanweb Hackathon will demonstrate the impact of applying information technology to resource constraints. The goal is to build apps and hacks exploiting new sustainable business models while leveraging the mobile and social web. We challenge attendees on what they can do in 24 hours with utility, transport and smart grid datasets that might just change the world just a little bit.
The Cleanweb Hackathon will commence Friday evening with a Kick-Off Social at the New York Academy of Sciences from 6:30 – 9:00 pm where participants can deliver a two-minute pitch of their ideas in an effort to recruit teammates. On Saturday morning, all competitors will gather at New York University Tisch School of the Arts Interactive Telecommunications Program where they will spend the next 30 hours brainstorming and developing cleanweb applications.
