1st Pitch Life Science "Best of the Best 2017"

December 13, 2017
Alexandria Center for Life Science
450 East 29th Street, 2nd Floor, between 1st Avenue and the East River
New York, NY

Overview: During the year, 1st Pitch Life Science offered presenters and audience members the chance to hear what happens in closed-door discussions that took place after a company presented to an angel group, and to learn what really matters to investors. At the end of each of those events, the audience voted on a “Best in Show” winner. The Best of the Best event brings together the “Best in Show” winners from 2017 1st Pitch competitions in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. At the end of the event, the audience will vote on a “Best of the Best” winner.  This is the pinnacle of the 1st Pitch season, so we hope you can attend!

There will be a poster session prior to the presentations. This session will feature exciting NYC-based life science start-ups and will provide an excellent networking opportunity for start-ups, investors and all attendees.

1st Pitch Life Science is organized by MABA (Mid Atlantic Bio Angels (, a life science investor group, to encourage and educate aspiring life science entrepreneurs who know they may be too early or not fully prepared to seek investment but want the opportunity to practice their pitch and to receive constructive criticism from experienced and knowledgeable professionals.

  • Try out a pitch where no money is immediately at stake
  • Hear what investors and audience members think of their presentation and opportunity
  • Receive early, constructive feedback from knowledgeable and experienced industry people (including representatives from Mid Atlantic Bio Angels)
  • Potentially connect with advisors/mentors and other team members who may be interested in supporting the company’s efforts and adding value at an early stage
