1st Pitch Life Science Coached Companies Competition
June 11, 2019
(Exact location will be provided to confirmed registrants)
Event is free. However, we are experimenting with a more intimate venue. Please note registration procedure, due to limited seating. Please pre-register by June 6th. We will confirm attendance closer to the event date.
In this recently introduced, and evolving format, three or four companies will receive coaching from MABA investors prior to competing at the live 1st Pitch event. After each presentation, the entrepreneur will answer a few brief questions and several of the coaches will provide feedback on the pitch. There will be a Q&A session with the companies and coaches in the end, while the audience votes on “Best in Show”. The winner will compete in the "Best of the Best" event in New York City at the end of the year.
But we need your help! There’s no money involved, but if you or someone you know has a company ready to test a pitch to real investors and take honest, constructive feedback from them, please have the company download, fill out and submit the application form you will find at http://www.1stpitchlifescience.com/1st-pitch-nyc/. Even if you are not chosen to make a pitch, we may extend you an offer to present a poster on your work. Application Deadline: May 21, 2019.
1st Pitch Life Science is organized by Mid Atlantic Bio Angels (MABA) (http://www.bioangels.net), a NY-based life science investor group, whose members participate in the investor panel. The program is designed to expose aspiring life science entrepreneurs to constructive criticism of their pitches and business models from experienced and knowledgeable professionals. In addition, participants get to connect with future advisors, mentors, and colleagues to grow their early stage ventures.
The 1st Pitch event will be preceded by a “meet with investors” roundtable discussion, between 5:00 – 5:30 for academics and entrepreneurs (separate registration required). The investors at the roundtable will discuss the investment process, things to do and to avoid, and things investors look for in an investment opportunity.
