New XIRs and CTV Fellows Application
We are excited this month to welcome Linda Dujack, former executive at Johnson & Johnson, and Arikha Moses, serial entrepreneur and inventor to our XIR program. Linda served as the VP for Product Evaluation and University Relations at J&J, and worked in several other departments during her 30 years with the company. Prior to joining J&J, Linda worked for the Food and Drug Administration, Hoffman-La Roche, and the National Academy of Sciences/Institute of Medicine. Arikha Moses is the current Founder/CSO of Galatea Surgical. She also founded TyRx Pharma, which was acquired by Medtronic, and was a Director of R&D for Helix Therapeutics. Arikha is also a prolific inventor, with over a dozen patents in her name. See Linda and Arikha's full bios here.
For those in the Columbia community, speak with your CTV licensing officer or email email@example.com to arrange a meeting with Linda, Arikha or CTV’s other current XIRs (David Murphy, serial entrepreneur and CTV's original XIR; Javier Saade, former Associate Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, appointed by President Obama; and Nicholas Wood, founder and adviser of many high tech startups).
For graduate students in the community, applications are now open for the CTV Fellows Program. This globally-recognized Fellowship offers Columbia graduate students a paid opportunity to join us as we work to bring the innovations emerging from Columbia’s research labs to the marketplace. Over 120 Fellows alumni have gone on to distinguished careers working for companies as diverse as Intel, IBM, Merck, Novartis, Apple, The Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey, various law and venture firms, and in tech transfer across the country. Applications for the Fellows program will be accepted through February 24. Click below for more details on info sessions at the Medical Center campus (February 9) and the Morningside campus (February 10).
Finally, I wanted to share two exciting upcoming events, Biopharma Perspective on Early Venture Investing and R&D on Thursday, Feb. 11 and Obama's StartUp Nation: Perspectives on Catalyzing Innovation Inside and Outside the Government on Friday, March 4. We hope to see you there!
