Elliott Levy
Elliott Levy is a drug developer and clinical trialist. Over the course of his almost thirty year career in biopharmaceutical research and development, he has played a significant role in the development and approval of over 20 new medicines, many with novel targets or technology, in multiple disease areas, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, and immunology/inflammation. He is particularly skilled at the design and execution of sophisticated large scale clinical research programs to address complex clinical-regulatory challenges.
Elliott is currently a venture partner at 5AM Ventures, a director or advisor to numerous biotech firms, and a Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group. He was previously Head of Clinical Development at Amgen; under his leadership, Amgen completed registrational programs and gained approval for over two medicines a year, on average, thereby more than doubling the company’s marketed product portfolio. Prior to joining Amgen, Elliott held multiple roles in Clinical Development and Regulatory Affairs at Bristol-Myers Squibb. At Amgen and Bristol, as the leader of large global organizations, he was also responsible for executing significant transformation and process improvement initiatives.
He has served in leadership positions in public private partnerships (the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative), and industry consortia (Transcelerate Biotech). During the pandemic, Elliott participated both in ACTIV (the NIH-industry public private partnership for COVID-19 therapeutic development) and in the COVID R&D Alliance, the industry wide response to COVID-19, which launched the first large industry sponsored platform trial of COVID-19 therapeutics.
He graduated from Yale College and Yale Medical School, trained in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and served on the faculty of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
